A.J. FUS

A.J. Fus is a Doctor of Physical Therapy. A.J. received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Utica College in 2011. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy (2006) and Bachelor of Science in Health Studies (2004). A.J. serves as the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education as well as Clinical Instructor for physical therapy students at PhysioWorks. A.J. specializes in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. A.J. is married with three beautiful children and is active in the local community, supporting the growth of youth lacrosse. A.J. enjoys sports, running, Peloton, and skiing in the winter.

JOEL McMANAMY

Joel is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who received his degree from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2021. He is a Venice local who is excited to return to the area with his growing family. Joel specializes in orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, balance, and generalized conditioning. His aim is to help rehabilitate his patients and get them back to doing what they love. Joel has an extensive background in exercise training as he was a personal trainer during his undergraduate at the University of South Florida. When Joel isn’t in the clinic he can be found at the gym, hitting the links, or spending time with his family.

SHANA BICKEL

Shana is originally from Marquette, MI where she received a BS from Northern Michigan University. Shana then pursued physical therapy earning a MS from Washington University in St Louis. Shana relocated to Florida in 1997 working in a variety of settings including acute and home care before coming to practice at PhysioWorks. Shana has two teenage children who are active in soccer. Shana enjoys biking, running, and being out in nature as well as spending time with her schnoodle, Lucy.

DANA NERI

Dana received her Physical Therapy degree from West Virginia University in 1987. She has experience in orthopedics, balance training and acute care. Her interests include cycling, camping, hiking and spending time in the north Georgia mountains.

RICHIE BARLETTA

Richie is a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Richie received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Florida Southern College in 2023. Richie grew up in New York and is a long time fan of the New York Rangers. Richie had originally been a Physical Therapist Assistant and worked in various settings including travel therapy locations around the country before going back to school to receive his Doctorate. Richie specializes in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. Outside of Physical therapy, Richie loves playing golf, traveling, volunteering at the animal shelter, and hiking with his lovely wife and two rescue pups.

RYAN FRONRATH

Ryan is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who received his degree from Nova Southeastern University. He is originally from Michigan where he received his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Michigan State University. Ryan specializes in orthopedics, balance, and sports rehabilitation. Outside the clinic, Ryan enjoys spending time with his fiancĂ© and their chocolate lab, Maverick. He also enjoys working out, watching sports, and going to the beach.

FRANK ZARZUTZKI

Frank received his Associate Degree in Physical Therapy from Newbury College (Massachusetts) in 1983 and specializes in orthopedic, sports and neuro/stroke rehabilitation.

MICHELLE GRASRUCK

Michelle is the Office Manager and insurance specialist. She brings years of experience in insurance and billing to PhysioWorks, where she currently keeps the front office running smoothly. Michelle grew up in Connecticut and has lived in Florida since 1999. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog and going to the beach.

CARLA BARNES

Carla is our Receptionist and Scheduler. Carla was born in Maryland but moved to Florida 43 years ago where she grew up in Englewood. She has always work in the medical field. Carla enjoys going to Disney, playing with her two dogs, and going to the beach every chance she gets.

RICH BARLETTA – RETIRED

Dr. Rich Barletta earned his Physical Therapy degree from Ithaca College (Go Bombers!) in 1984 and his Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida in 1993. Rich moved from New York to Sarasota, Florida in 1985 and worked for two local area hospitals for ten years before venturing out to open PhysioWorks. He was conferred the Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of South Alabama in 2010. Rich specializes in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation with his primary concentration relating to shoulders and knees. He enjoys skiing, traveling, hiking and anything Peloton!

TIMI JEAN BARLETTA – RETIRED

T.J. Barletta has been a Physical Therapist for 36 years. The better half of the Barletta team, TJ also received her Physical Therapy degree from Ithaca College in New York State in 1984. After moving to Sarasota, FL, T.J. worked for Sarasota Memorial Hospital for twelve years before joining PhysioWorks full time. Her specialties include orthopedic, neurological and vestibular rehabilitation. TJ ,with her husband Rich, raised two handsome sons and enjoys visiting them along with cooking, traveling and shopping.
